To expand on Fast-Bears comment...

There are some places that have computer/electronics recylcing containers. There are some recycling facilities designed to handle computer parts. A place around my area will clean out old hardrives and build and donate newly rebuilt computers to schools and such. The pieces they cant do anything with they break down and recylcing safely. Computer parts contain things from mercury and lead to gold and less common metals. The facilities extract these hazardous or useful materials, chop up the plastic, and resell it all. Other places buy the various types of plastic chips to make their own stuff with. Sort of like paper.

About monitors.. if i recall corectly, inside em theres a box that has a charge in it to keep the monitors heart working basicly. This box you should never fiddle with. Theres enough charge in it to make your family very sad..

I have issues with not recycling. I rarely take out the garbage because over half of my garbage is in my closet, waiting to go to the recycling bin. >< If I didnt live in an apartment, id have a compost.

You can recycle just about everything. Its not difficult to rinse out a jar or can and stuff it off the the side.

Im totally looking forward to hydrogen cars.
And not having children.
Some people need a brain reformat. o_o

An interesting fact: Rear-Projection Monitors and TVs emit X-Ray Radiation. Now the rays themselves dont hurt the inviroment because the actuall vaccuumed area behind the screen has about 1/4 an inch(1/2 a CM) of lead around it, and when you throw away an old monitor, your basically dumping lead into the enviroment.(IMPORTANT SAFTY NOTE ABOUT THROWING AWAY A MONITOR/TV: ALWAYS RELEASE THE VACCUM IN THERE BY REMOVING THE COVOR AND HITTING THE TUBE BEHIND THE SCREEN! If you dont, hitting the screen may lead to a dangerous decompression, and essentially a explotion of VERY sharp glass!) Also, CPUs have Silicone, and I dont think that goes very well in the enviroment.. And most Computer Drives and Comuter Cases have Plastic in em. Although in general its more Steel than Plastic.

But still, being you guys are basically a DA ver of "Earth First", I thought you guys just might wana know that.
