Green DA: May 27, 2005

Fri May 27, 2005, 11:16 AM
Welcome to Green DA!

This group is dedicated to the exploration, conservation, protection, and education about the environment. The premise of Green DA is to show this through our members' artwork, whether it be photography, 3D, writing, etc. All artists are welcome to join with the only stipulation that you promote those ideals (beauty, exploration, conservation, protection, and education) through some of your artwork.

Many thanks to for the name of this group!

Thank you so much for the avatar you created for Green DA!

Thank you for our Group ID!

To join simply send me a note with the reasons you wish to join. I will peruse your gallery to determine adherence to the principles listed above and if approved will add you to the member list. Also be sure to give Green DA a :+devwatch: so that you can keep up with all of the goings on of the group. It would be appreciated too if you help spread the word about Green DA through a link to us in your signature...this is not required by any means, but would help spread the word about us!

To expand on Fast-Bears comment...

There are some places that have computer/electronics recylcing containers. There are some recycling facilities designed to handle computer parts. A place around my area will clean out old hardrives and build and donate newly rebuilt computers to schools and such. The pieces they cant do anything with they break down and recylcing safely. Computer parts contain things from mercury and lead to gold and less common metals. The facilities extract these hazardous or useful materials, chop up the plastic, and resell it all. Other places buy the various types of plastic chips to make their own stuff with. Sort of like paper.

About monitors.. if i recall corectly, inside em theres a box that has a charge in it to keep the monitors heart working basicly. This box you should never fiddle with. Theres enough charge in it to make your family very sad..
..

I have issues with not recycling. I rarely take out the garbage because over half of my garbage is in my closet, waiting to go to the recycling bin. >< If I didnt live in an apartment, id have a compost.

You can recycle just about everything. Its not difficult to rinse out a jar or can and stuff it off the the side.

Im totally looking forward to hydrogen cars.
And not having children.
Some people need a brain reformat. o_o

Woesome metaphor! Despair!
:iconmachinegun-willy:
Humans are the only living things on earth whose extinction would have a positive effect on just about every environment they inhabit.

It's scary and sad but unfortunately true.

Here's hoping we get those hydrogen cars real soon, and dammit it's the year 2005 so they had better be capable of flying. I'm still waiting on my jetpack too.

Here's your blood money. Don't spend it all in one circle of hell.
